vendor list and review
November 5, 2008
before everything faded from my memory, I’d like to list our vendor here so that we don’t lose this memory in the upcoming years. I spent sooo much time looking for these vendors and I’d like to share with you as well my finding, hopefully this will help you girls in preparing your own wedding (in Columbus of course :P)
Let’s start with dress, it’s from Bridal and Formal at Cincinnati. They supplied my bridal attire (gown (VW), veil, & tiara) and my bridesmaids dresses as well. [Shoes: JC, UK (internet), Perfume: Daisy by MK ]
Florist: by Michael Cua from Cua of Columbus –> really good florist to work with. He’ll provide centerpieces samples before the wedding on the wedding venue at no extra charge. One more thing I like from him, you can visit him how many time you want or call him, and he’ll happy to answer all of your questions. I really love the bouquet he made for me as well (wait until I upload the picture!)
Wedding Cake (& the golf cake): Cake Studio –>their cake tastes really awesome, they use meringue buttercream icing (or something like that), not too sweet, and their signature cake is just perfect. It’s a combo of choc. cake, choc. ganache, and fresh raspberry (that’s all I can remember now). I gave her my design (yes, the cake is my own design (and I’m proud of it whether people like it or not), and there were 3 different taste between those layers: their signature cake, vanilla and fresh strawberries, and mocha with Baileys filling. I didn’t get the chance to taste the vanilla and fresh straw. but the other 2 is really good.
Venue: Hilton at Polaris. I worked with krista Reichard, the catering manager and she’s really awesome. We started the process with Cindy way before the hotel is even finished (Krista not even hired yet). It’s still dirt and bare construction steels and we’ve approached her about having a wedding there and we (ok, it’s me) asked Cindy a LOT of questions. Well, the hotel is not even done, Krista not even hired yet, and no previous wedding for us to see as an example, so I’d better be triple extra careful. However, she answered all of my questions happily. All in all, all of the persons I work with at Hilton is very nice, very helpful and that results in a very satisfied customer (–>me), I’m literally very happy with my experience dealing with Hilton.
Here are some other vendor I use:
Lighting: PSAV by Hilton
Lymo: Lynn’s limo
Dj: Team DJ –> very dissapointing :(, it depents on who’s the DJ assigned to your party.
Hair stylist and Makeup artist: pearl and a black dress (kellie) and crystal from hair force
photographer: mark ridout-canada. He’s awesome to work with. I’ll recommend him for anyone wants my recommendation. Not only his work is good, but I also like his style where he’ll just make us relax and enjoy our big day (so we’ll have good pictures with us smiling instead of being tense). Check out his website: ridoutphotography .com videographer: bluesky - Columbus. Really2 nice to work with and they shoot beautiful footage as well.
favor: some place i found from internet
little details (candles, etc.): google (my new best friend, not new anymore now
)
second ‘florist’: Evy Mulia
- help with rose petals, and ‘other’ flower decoration.
Jewelries: import from my home country ![]()
bridesmaid’s hair and makeup: Charles penzone polaris –> OK/so so/not bad/…
linen: Lora from Elegant Touch. Really nice lady to work with.
Tux: Men’s Warehouse and Brooks Brothers
gown preserv.: Dublin’s cleaner
Flower preserv.: Creative Keepsakes
I think that’s about it.
Mrs. sulistyo :)
October 19, 2008
Officially become a Mrs. Sulistyo…
Well, I decided not to change my last name….yet…. There are so many numbers I have to call once I decided to change my name. I think there’s a service provider somewhere that will help me contacting those people when I change my name but that’s not my priority now. Bottom point, I’ll keep my name.
The wedding was great I think… There were small very minor glitches here and there but nobody is perfect and by the end of the day, I felt really happy, fabulous, gorgeous, wonderful, etc. etc….When I walked down the aisle escorted by my dad, I was really nervous and as I’m approaching the altar, I just can’t stop looking at Edy and felt how glorious the day (and everything) is.
I’m really glad that everything perfectly comes together nicely. I’ve prepared for the cake, the florist, the chair cover, etc. and one of my worries is that while it looks good individually, it will look not-so-good putting together but I think I’m worrying over nothing. Everything looks perfect in my eyes, the flowers were really beautiful, the cake was gorgeous, everything just fit nicely together. Oh, by the way, I like the second tier of my cake where there is a bow just like my dress’ belt. I also love to see Edy’s face when we all started singing the happy birthday song and the surprised golf birthday cake being carted into the ballroom. I just love every single details of the wedding… :) I’d like to thank all of our friends as well who has participated on our wedding, without your help, the wedding wouldn’t be as beautiful as it is. Especially for the groomsmen and bridesmaids, you all were there for us from very early in the morning until late into the night. We really really appreciate your support and love. There’s special person whom I’d like to thank as well, Fonny, without her help, I don’t know what the day will be like. She makes sure everything is in place and went well. She’s a wonderful lady, an efficient orgnizer, she’s just a really great help to us.
We took our bridal party pictures at Inniswood park and while there was some chilly wind occasionally, the wheather is great overall. Mark took beautiful shots and we all were having fun, I won’t be able to forget about this even if I want to.
I really thank God for his blessing and his presence throughout the day that everything went so perfectly and special.
this is the DAY!!!
October 18, 2008
It’s 5.45AM now, one miracle happen this early morning, I woke up at 5.20 am! I never, NEVER able to wake this early without any divine intervention…I guess I’m just excited for the day to begin.
My feeling today? It’s a mixture of thousand different feelings. What are they? Hmmm…..happy, curious about how the day will unravel, excited, excited, and excited
no other words than excited. Finally, after more than a year of preparation, here we are.
The makeup artist will knock my door really soon so I’d better get ready now…
Byeeee….
1 day to go
October 17, 2008
Today was really a busy day…
I started my day at 9 AM, getting some final details done, then I dashed to the florist to check my bouquet and other flowers he wanted me to look at. The bouquet is REALLY beautiful, a combo of orange and yellow. I love the bouquet jewels placed in the bouquet, it’s oh-so-sparkly and beautiful….Thanks to the many bridal magazine that I found this pretty little things and I think I made the right decision when I ordered those jewels.
Next stop is the Charles Penzone salon to get my nails french-polished. There was really no time to do that but I managed to sneak in some time to get my nails done
Then, Edy and I got our engagement picture session with our photographer at several places around Columbus. Mark Ridout, our photographer, showed us some of the pictures from his camera and oh boy, he made beautiful shots! I can’t wait to see the final product….
Finally, we had our rehearsal at St. Peter followed by rehearsal dinner at Chinese restaurant close to the church. I was afraid that we (Edy and I) can’t make it on-time for th erehearsal at 7 and it turns out that we arrive at the church exactly on 7.00 PM. Well, a bit late (We need to be there like 30 mintues before) but we made it, so everything should be fine. Wow, tomorrow is the wedding day. It’s getting real!
So many things to do still and it’s late already. I have to wake up before 6 AM tomorrow :-| See you on the next post!
7 days and keep counting…
October 11, 2008
Uh…oh… it’s getting closer and closer:)
One thing worries me, I’m still getting occasional cough and I want to be 100% healthy during the wedding. It’s not fun to cough in front of the altar and how awkward it will be :(.
There are still so many little things to do, have to finalize some more details with vendors, and it’s only 7 days away now. I keep praying to God that He will make everything okay and all will be fine. Amen… ![]()
10 days to go
October 8, 2008
Wow, 10 days left. I decided to jot down a short note here.
My parents are coming to town today! their flight is scheduled to land in Columbus at 5.30 this afternoon. Oh, I’m sooo excited…

Happy birthday Edy!!
Yes, today is Edy’s birthday and among our plenty to-do list we need to get done with today, we manage to spare some time to get a romantic dinner together, our last date before we become husband and wife :). We went to Rosendales at Short North area downtown, a chic new restaurant there and have the 5-course tasting menu. The food was really great and the presentation was really artistic. We thought it’s just going to be 5 small course but they sneaked in some additional (smaller) course in between and 2 kinds of dessert at the end. Blast our diet! the food was too great to waste :). We left the restaurant feeling really bloated and happy.
closer and closer…

12 days to the wedding!
I’m finally done with the seating chart and the RSVP list is pretty much complete. I met my florist again last Saturday, visit the Hotel for some fine details and here I am. What a busy weekend. And my parents will arrive here in Columbus in 2 days! I’m so excited. These days I’m very busy and almost can’t find time to update this blog. But, luckily I manage to squeeze some time today.
bridal shower / bachelorette time!!!
August 19, 2008
One word: FUN!!! ^.^
My bridal shower was on the 16th of this month organized by my beautiful bridesmaids…That was a blast…Well, girls are wild. :D We had delicious foods - a LOT of them, games, and gifts. It was a pink-themed party, everybody wore pink outfit (except me > in white). The games were HOT (won’t tell you any more details, it’s a SECRET! ^_^) and well, we girls just had a great time together. One of my b.m. baked me a ‘very-interesting-looking’ cake and I felt bad that I had to cut it :P. At the end of the party, we released a bunch of balloons into the sky…pink, white, and fuschia, very…very… beautiful.
Later on, we had dinner with just my girls at downtown here and we continue the party at one of the clubs there with all of my ’bride-to-be’ attire (you don’t want to know the details, I assure you…). Well, that day was one of those few unforgettable days of my life, it was embarassing at times (again, no details here…) but it was definitely worth remembering. I just want to say big thanks to my m.o.h and bridesmaids who organized the party and to all of you girls who attend and participate in the games and had fun together with me. Your blessing is really meaningful to me…
