About Us

The Bride The first daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Handoko Arnan, Arlene was born in Surabaya in 1983. Upon high school graduation, it was a tough decision for her to decide whether to study abroad and leave her beloved family or to stay at her hometown. At the end, she chose to go to The Ohio State University and in 2006, got her degree in Industrial & System Engineering. Currently, she is pursuing Master Degree in Columbus, Ohio and expected to graduate by April 2009.

The Groom The first son (after three older sisters) of Mr. & Mrs. Sulistyo, Edy was born in Surabaya in 1983. Graduated from a Catholic school in his hometown, he went into The Ohio State University for college in 2001. Through hard work (and some fun, of course), he graduated with a Bachelor degree in Computer & Science Engineering in 2006. Started with internship during his undergraduate study, now he is a full time employee at a financial company in town.

How they met

Edy and Arlene met in the fall of 2001 when both were recently landed in Columbus from their hometown in Surabaya, Indonesia. At the time, the two of them didn’t even imagine that they will eventually get married. On one summer, the two started casually going out together: went to dinner, movie, or just get together a lot but still, they denied calling that dating. Finally, both of them realized that there’s something in the air and decided that their first official date would be on January, 2^nd 2003 in East Coast Beach, Singapore. Their first date consists of only a long walk in the white sandy beach at sunset and the fun continued until to be exact 4 years 4 months 10 days later when Edy proposed to Arlene AND the fun will STILL be continued …
