bridal shower / bachelorette time!!!

August 19, 2008

One word: FUN!!! ^.^

My bridal shower was on the 16th of this month organized by my beautiful bridesmaids…That was a blast…Well, girls are wild. :D We had delicious foods - a LOT of them, games, and gifts. It was a pink-themed party, everybody wore pink outfit (except me > in white). The games were HOT (won’t tell you any more details, it’s a SECRET! ^_^) and well, we girls just had a great time together. One of my b.m. baked me a ‘very-interesting-looking’ cake and I felt bad that I had to cut it :P. At the end of the party, we released a bunch of balloons into the sky…pink, white, and fuschia, very…very… beautiful.

Later on, we had dinner with just my girls at downtown here and we continue the party at one of the clubs there with all of my ’bride-to-be’ attire (you don’t want to know the details, I assure you…). Well, that day was one of those few unforgettable days of my life, it was embarassing at times (again, no details here…) but it was definitely worth remembering. I just want to say big thanks to my m.o.h and bridesmaids who organized the party and to all of you girls who attend and participate in the games and had fun together with me. Your blessing is really meaningful to me…

registry time

August 5, 2008

Here’s a short note on wedding registry:

Initially, I didn’t even think about creating one. In the place where I grew up, we didn’t even have what’s called a wedding registry. Bottom line, I’m just not used to the idea. However, I lived here in US long enough and as I would say over and over again, I read too many wedding mags. In every one of those, there’s section devoted to registry. By now, you must know already what I’m going to say next… Yes, finally I created a registry. Not only one but TWO registries ^.^ (those marketing/persuassion techniques indeed works!).

Well, there’s a reason behind my change of mind (Obviously, those marketing people behind the mags can’t persuade me that easily). Creating a wedding registry is a one-in-a-lifetime event. Why don’t I just make one for fun? There’s nothing to lose and I will get the experience for lifetime.

Edy, well, being Edy, suggests that we creates a registry at amazon.com. That’s completely opposite of what I think of the registering experience I want (the process is just so… unmemorable, you register for everything from your laptop. I want the browse-touch-scan kind of registering!). Anyway, he brought up the pros and cons (why so complicated!? Registry is just a registry) and we finally agree on it. But, later on, I still want to have the traditional registering where you go to a store, browse, and scan. So, I decided to just create another registry (there’s no harm in having more than 1, by the way). I like Crate & Barrel stuff so we went there last week and had so much fun browsing and scanning. I think this is the best solution for everybody (well, me and Edy :) ). Enough about wedding registry. Until then…
